Commodore SR7919
Brief History
The history of the Commodore and MOS companies intertwined very early on; the largest number of MOS circuits for scientific calculators were installed by Commodore in their various machines, thus becoming their largest customer and later including MOS Technologies. Certain chips cannot be found, or hardly at all, in other companies' calculators. This is also the case with version 9 of the very popular and well-known MOS 7529 circuit family, most of which can be found in Commodore's SR7919 type. The machine is very small, the same size as the Commodore 700 series, so scientific functions can be accessed with a toggle key. Its keyboard is of very good quality, instead of the metal spring version used in contemporary machines, it has a conductive rubber membrane design. The small version of the classic SR4148 with the type designation SR7949 was also released, which, with its two shift keys and the large number of available functions, can be considered the record holder of machines with a similar design.
