Hanimex BCM901

Brief History
Founded in 1947, the Australian Hanimex Corporation was known primarily for its cameras, which were manufactured under its own brand by various manufacturers in fairly good quality. In addition to satisfying domestic imports, the company's international operations has become increasingly important, extending its product range year by year, so various electronic devices have appeared in the company's offer since the 1960s. From 1967 onwards, Toshiba's ever-smaller desktop calculators began to be marketed in Australia, and from 1972, various OEM calculators began to be sold worldwide.

From 1975, the new 900 series calculators were available. Its housing were of the same design, and their knowledge ranged from basic machines to scientific versions. The Hong Kong manufacturer of the machines is unknown. Unlike previous products, unusual colors also appeared in the grouping of keys by function, which made these devices unique not only among other Hanimex calculators, but among all calculators around the world.

In addition to the simplest BC900 model, which can only calculate percentages in addition to the four basic functions, the BCM901 with memory, the BC999 expanded with square root and register exchange capabilities, represented the household calculators; the ESR80 and ESR90 "slide rule" models were also provided with reciprocal, square, square root functions; and finally the ESR100, ESR 1010SN and ESR MASTER models also had the functions required for scientific, the ESF101 for financial calculations. These types include the same American circuits found in most similar OEM calculators of the era.
