In the first half of the 1970s, most office equipment trading companies sought to manufacture their pocket calculators in Japan because they were able to produce large quantities of very high quality devices at extremely low costs. Among the models made in several variations, the orange-colored BMB 80S and 80M models are exactly the same as the BMC Deluxe 8 and 88 models. There is only one letter of difference in their brand: BMB stands for an Italian company named Business Machine Breschi, best known for its travel typewriters, which switched their logo in 1975 to a similar one to the german MBO’s; and BMC was a Japanese electronics trading company which name is like of a large socialist corporation (Business Machines Corporation). The only difference between the four models is that the keyboards of the 80S and Deluxe 8 models do not have the keys of the memory functions supported by the Mitsubishi chip, they are only applied for the more expensive 80M and 88 models.
