Ventron VT-600
Brief History
Very interesting calculator from 1973. Its manufacturer is unknown, made in Japan. Its keyboard was made by Tokai Communications Industry Co., Ltd. Built around one of the well-known short-lived chip manufacturer of the era — Cal-Tex’s CT5002 IC, the display of this 12-digit calculator was made from two pieces of 3-digit Sperry gas-discharge displays — similar to the “Panaplex” system. Depending on the position of the U/L switch on the left, you can display either the first (upper), or the second (lower) six digits. The very large machine is powered by 5 AA-size penlight batteries.
