EL-231S

Brief History
The story began in 1982, when competition between the two big japanese manufacturer, Casio and Sharp resulted the EL-230 calculator with an indestructible design. The machine itself has been in production for years, while its interior has changed several times. The successor to the machine, which can be operated with pencil batteries for years, the EL-231 appeared on the market in 1986 with an enlarged plus key.

Its successor, which manufactured at the Taiwanese plant (EL-231S) and later the EL-231H looks almost identical to the original model, but these are not most interesting for their own, but because of their copies and fakes that have been continuously produced ever since. It is almost impossible to find two identical ones: there are countless variations not only in their appearance, but also in their components, not to mention the quality of the materials used. We will present quite a few clones and fakes in an article in the near future.
