Brief History
Sears, Roebuck and Co. founded in 1893 was selling wider range of products from catalogs, later opened its own stores in the USA. Bowmar sell the first pocket calculators since 1971, and produced more and more OEM variants to several companies and stores. Sears ordered a slightly modified version of the original 905 model and marketed under the name Sears 58850 from 1972. After the success of this model, almost the full Bowmar Brain palette has been produced under the Sears brand, so the OEM version of the Bowmar MX-55 with disposable batteries was manufactured in 1974.
